7" Vinyl – BK102

A real and delicious slice of underground New York heat from 1978, Aura's 'Freex' is a breakbeat-driven disco-funk bomb finally getting its long-overdue official 45 reissue. Born from the teenage Queens band Hooker, Aura evolved into a studio alliance helmed by the Cadle Brothers and their tight-knit crew under the short-lived Starbase Sounds label. The record's chunky rhythm and rubbery basslines combine with streetwise funk energy that takes you back to the untamed spirit of late-70s NYC dance floors. Backed with the shimmering B-side 'Sunshine Love,' this reissue resurrects a cult artefact once bootlegged and near-mythic among collectors. Don't sleep on this bit of disco history.
