2LP Vinyl – PLP-7754

A miraculous compilation of all the singles from the 70's by the North Carolina soul/funk group Brief Encounter, famous for their mega-rare first album (1977) with a market price of over 200,000 yen!Dedicated to all soul fans!

Brief Encounter is a nine-member soul/funk group led by the four Bailey brothers from North Carolina.Known to soul and rare groove fans for their fantastic first album released in 1977, which was forbidden to be reissued in 2010 and is known as the Holy Grail of Soul, this album covers all the single works they left for Seventy Seven/Sound Plus and Capitol in the 70s! Plus, a groundbreaking compilation of two tracks from their reunion, one released in 2010 and the other unreleased until 2018 on UK's Athens Of The North! In the '70s, they had two songs: "Human," a great medium song that is now selling for over 30,000 yen as a Sound Plus single (1977) due to the recent popularity of modern and crossover soul, and "Where Will I Go," a sweet ballad that was included on a P-Vine compilation LP in 1988 and was unreleased at the time and became a hot topic in the lowrider community. Although "Where Will I Go" was later released in its entirety by AOTN (and is included on this album in its entirety), the earlier P-Vine compilation "Brief Encounter with Sweet Soul Music," which included these two songs and their Seventy Seven/Sound Plus work, is now over 15,000 yen! This fact alone shows the high popularity of their works in this era. And what a sinful compilation to include their Capitol singles! A must-have for all soul fans!
