Trio Abaeté, a vocal group from Bahia, made a powerful debut with masterfully crafted Jazz Funk sambas—emerging during an era when Bahian musicians were true masters of the genre.

There’s virtually little information about them, apart from their own work, which seems to consist of only two releases: a single and this highly regarded self-titled LP from 1977, now a cult classic.

The Band also wrote songs for Clara Nunes and Elza Soares in the 70s.
