Introducing the N-WHLB SD stylus from JICO, a revolutionary alternative replacement for the discontinued Shure WHITE LABEL Cartridge. As part of the JICO CUSTOM SHOP's latest series, the N-WHLB SD (Synthetic Diamond) tipped stylus will feature a white knob closely mirroring Shure's original specifications. The SD version of the WHITELABEL provides the quality and performance that everyone has been longing for.
Nude Vs. Synthetic Tip Info:
Synthetic Diamonds refer to diamonds that are artificially created and share the same chemical composition, crystal structure, and optical/physical properties as Natural Diamonds. Natural Diamonds vary in hardness due to their natural formation, whereas Synthetic Diamonds offer the advantage of consistent hardness. Synthetic Diamonds are more affordable compared to Natural Diamonds and their supply is stable, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.
[Features]
・SD Tip (Synthetic Unplated Diamond Tip) has a full diamond structure like the NUDE Tip (Natural Unplated Diamond Tip).
・The tip's diameter is φ0.25mm, the same shape as Bonded Diamond tips. ・It possesses the same hardness as Natural Diamonds.
・The tip shape is conical and the lifespan is approximately 200 hours.
How long does a stylus last?
Unfortunately, there is no definitive answer to this question. Nagaoka quote 150-200 hours before damage to the grooves sets in for their elliptical styluses. Ortofon states that their affordable DJ-style “bonded” type diamonds reach about 600-1000 hours of stylus life while HiFi cartridges with Nude diamonds are expected to far exceed 2,000 hours with proper care and maintenance. Meanwhile, some of the very exotic brands quote even higher numbers.
