The end result is an album that glides out of the speakers like a catamaran skipping across a calm ocean at the height of summer. The opening track, Runner Up, is the perfect illustration of that vibe. Okonski’s opening chords have the clarity and purity of a mountain stream and his melody reminded me of the work of Duval Timothy. It is a light and airy introduction to the album; one that is utterly refreshing and as the track unfolds we become aware of how in sync this trio are. We are in safe hands.
