Embracing a geophonic approach, ‘make it rain’ was recorded by Piano Stool (Robert Medland) on a rainy day in North Carolina with the windows open. The album’s fifteen compositions combine elements of Brian Eno’s ambient, minimalist approach on ‘Music For Airports’ and soft-handed flourishes reminiscent of the devotional, classic piano of Emahoy Tsegué-Mariam Guèbru. All embellished by Medland’s sedated interpretation of ragtime piano.
