The record where the pumpkins swapped the wall of guitars for a whole different weather system.

The Smashing Pumpkins’ fourth studio album, released June 1998 on Virgin Records. Recorded through the death of drummer Jimmy Chamberlin’s exit and Billy Corgan’s mother’s death, the album traded the grunge-metal roar of Mellon Collie for programmed beats, synths and gothic pop. Divisive at release, now gathered a genuine cult following. Nominated for the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Performance.
