1LP Vinyl – HRLP-011

Looking at the liner notes, Shungo Sawada (guitar) plays the role of producer, and Hideyuki Kikuchi (as), Hironori Takitani (b), and Takahiro Suzuki (ds) are members of Shungo Sawada's band. It seems to be a band coordinated by Sawada in accordance with JVC's "commercial request". Among them, Masabumi Kikuchi (explained) who dropped out of Tokyo University of the Arts and returned from Berkeley provided the arrangement and two original songs. Chick style, Miles style, B-side jazz rock is Hancock style. It's finished with the feeling that Japanese jazz can be heard quite easily. I can feel the high level of arrangement ability of Masabumi Kikuchi, but I think. However, Little Abi, the second song on side A, was the first infusion of Little Abi in later years. I think the lyrical finish of this song is worth listening to. Quite attractive. I think it's a document on the verge of Japanese jazz blooming with its own uniqueness.
