Lotsa Stuff Drops & RSD party is hapnin’

Howdy all its a big drop from the Plug again & also we got some news regarding plans for Record Store Day which some of U may know is coming up this Saturday 16th April.

First to the RSD business:

Record Store Day approacheth & we plan to do LOTSA stuff for it n shit.
Our man Johnny from next door who is, uhhrrm hrrm, of Argentinian descent, will be cooking up THEE best damn Asado Beef & Chimichurri BBQ you have ever ever had…All in our backyard. If U Dont know what that is.. You should. The man kills it on the GRILL! (he is Argentinian after all). Beers will be available and also OJ & coke for those who care to stay off the booze.. It’s a yard Party! DJs (to be announced) will be selecting tunes most… of the day..

We say most because.. even more importantly a braaand new band on the Melbourne scene is busting out in the shop. We think they’re rock hard & smooth at the same time so its gonna be an instore performance around 1.30pm… which means get in early for a spot inside & check out whats coming to town. It’ll be the First time the Plug has seen a full band inside & its a big band so yeh, u get the picture..

Here’s some Info on WVRBVBY from the source.

Hailing from the sonic vortex of Melbourne’s music scenes, WVRBVBY brings a twist of intergalactic hard-grooves to the table.

Led by bassist Carl Lindeberg, known for his deep pocket groove with local Afro-Funk legends The Seven Ups, Hip-Hop crew ESESE and Indie-RnB songstress Mya Wallace, the 7-piece ensemble works together through an electric journey of diverse musical and outer-worldly influences.

Ranging from a 70s fusion era to an intense rhythmic chemistry of modern beats, WVRBVBY’s sound is a mash of old with the new that incorporates a strong sense of improvisational interplay and an obvious hip-hop sway.

In the meantime whilst we wait for magic to be made in the studio here’s an exclusive private link to some of the desk recordings taken from the WVRBVBY debut show

Thanks All & see you in the shop on Saturday the 16th 10am – 6pm..
Oh, There will be records… oh yes, there will be records.
More info to come..

AND Now to the DROP:

Its nasty, its baaaad, yep its pretty good. We focussed entirely on originals this time round, so whilst a few cool newer things came in, like 30/70’s album & some other bits.. Lets stay with the old gear.
Checking the list you can see theres a pretty heavy load of Hip Hop again & some nice house & disco / italo records.. But theres also a good chunk of OG Rock, Prog & US Punk Hardcore records.. Not to mention some really tasty Reggae & Soundtracks. ANyway Check it out….

Remember we can mail records anywhere in OZ for a maximum $10 post so reply to this email with what yr after.. or drop by the shop, records are out today.. Friday 1st April, promise.
