Hi All,

Developing this list of records has been fun (as usual)..

Its so full up with good Roots Reggae & Jazz, which has been keeping the backroom warm while we get this all together..
Theres also as you can see a really good hit of Soul at the top of the list and a none to shabby range of Hip Hop & Japanese records too.

All told theres got to be 400 originals going out this drop and all are nice, clean and good selection. Come in for a listen..  Barrington Levy, Bim Sherman, Grant Green. Terry Riley, Maki Asakawa, Rene & Angela.. Its a list…and it goes on.

Please enjoy.

THE DROP

* Arian – Arian (Favorite)
In 1981, Macedonian singer Arian Krliu headed over to New York to record a bilingual album of disco and boogie treats. The resultant set was self-released in relatively limited qualities and has since gone in to become an in-demand item amongst collectors of global disco and synth-pop sounds. This officially licensed reissue stretches the album’s original eight tracks over two slabs of wax to allow for a louder, DJ-friendly pressing. Record one boasts Arian’s English language recordings; the sumptuous AOR disco of “Your Love Makes Me A Winner”, the punchy, horn-heavy disco-bogie brilliance of “Can’t Say Goodbye”, the K.I.D style dancefloor badness of “Sure It’s Funky” and blue-eyed soul of “Still Together”. Over on disc two, you’ll find Croatian language versions of the same tracks.

* V/A – AOR Global Sounds Vol.3 (Favorite)
On AOR Global Sounds Vol.3, DJ and producer Charles Maurice delivers again a fine overview of the AOR and WestCoast influences for many artists in the late 70s and early 80s. Even more than on previous volumes, he selected highly forgotten productions, deeply infused with Disco and Soul flavors.
Many of these great gems were naturally produced through all the USA, often made by artists with a very short career and as private press.
Fully remastered from originals, with great attention to sound quality as always, AOR Vol.3 is presented by Favorite Recordings in a gatefold vinyl double LP.

* Hotline – You Are Mine (Jamwax)
This very rare Nigerian disco classic LP, originally released in 1986, is the only known recorded album by Hotline and features the track ‘Fella’s Doing It In Lagos’, which is an absolute dancefloor bomb. No need for more superlatives. Heard to be believed.

* Udmo – Luba Luft (Analogue Attic)
After the success of 2016’s ‘Open Water’, udmo returns with three meticulous compositions based on themes of industry and space.
The tightly woven, grooving ethereal sounds that we have come to associate with this young artist are even more developed with his second release.
Label heads Albrecht La’Brooy contribute with a deeply hypnotic ‘Friday arvo knock-off’ remix suited to the early hours.

* Willy Dynamo – Dynamic (JNX)
Private press local hip hop beats from soulful maestro Willy Dynamo aka 2nd Thought.
Limited to 150 copies and bound to make you do a backflip. This is a local heater worth placing hands on, with some great cameos from Monk, Silent Jay, Neephy  and other rascals.
Don’t miss out on some soulful goodness here.
