Bringing It All Back Home, Dylan's fifth studio album, was part of a transformation process the singer underwent in the '60s. While he recorded songs like Mr. Tambourine Man and It's All Over Now, Baby Blue acoustically on the B-side, he had a band accompany him with electrically amplified instruments on the A-side.

The movement from folk to rock, from counterculture figure head to self-aware rock artist with surreal, linguistically complex lyrics, was widely seen as a betrayal by his fans. Yet more than 45 years after its initial release, the album still sounds like prophetic lore, with the most fearless and groundbreaking acoustic compositions heard to date.
